Dig deep.
At the core of things, I am finding that the music we make extends far beyond the notes we play.
I need to play music. I need to do this because I know that there is a certain part of my Self that I cannot communicate in any other way. I don’t know how to articulate what this feeling or emotion is, but I do know that it is absolutely necessary for me to express it, and it is probably the most vulnerable and honest part of my personality.
Tonight, I will be performing a solo drum set improvisation. And my hope for this piece is that you will know me better.
