This Sunday at Seattle's own Racer Sessions performance series, where honored to welcome composer and performer Yzech Tahar and Friends. T has performed at our series informally during the open improvisation portion in the past, but this Sunday marks YT's debut presentation at the session. Read below for an artistic statement from the artist himself.
"The Origins of Birds is a music/movement based response to the short story of the same name by author Italo Calvino. Rather than attempt to convey the story's deconstruction of linear time and progress, this piece instead seeks to capture the feeling of the story- of seeing the very first bird, hearing the very first song, and becoming entranced in a beauty that you could not previously have imagined nor currently comprehend."
