Racer Session #393 | Tiny Ghost | September 24, 2017
Greetings, Racers!
This weekend, we are excited to host Ivan Arteaga, a founding member of the Racer Sessions, on the good ol' Racer stage. Ivan, who puts much of his musical energy into performing the new and creative work of his own and others, will be presenting new material from the project Tiny Ghost, a quartet for self-composed, original music. We are thrilled to see what happens. You can read a little bit from Ivan below, so continue on and make sure to get yourself to Cafe Racer, this Sunday at 8pm.

"Hi! Tiny Ghost is a new quartet! It’s Greg Sinibaldi, Katie Jacobson, Ivan Arteaga & Raymond Larsen. We play music that is strange, pretty, funny, and weird. We like trying to understand the limitations we put on ourselves within the 'free' or 'improvised' music genre. We often ask ourselves questions like "what happens if we make 'silly' sounds while improvising?" or "what if this piece had a story behind it?" to try to push ourselves beyond what we think we know about free and improvised music. We like discovering sounds together and using words in combination with sound in our music.
We’re going to perform
Gunny Sack Race
Lightning
Queen of the night"
