Greetings, Racers!

We're proud to be partnering up with Vermillion Art Gallery & Bar on Capitol Hill and holding the Racer Sessions in their space for the month of January! These sessions are still all-ages, and run on the same schedule as always: 8:00pm presenting set, followed by an open improv jam session. And here's a map, in case you are unfamiliar with the venue!

Our first presenter of 2018 is seasoned improvisor, regular attendee, and Session co-founder Christopher Icasiano. Chris is an incomparable drummer - perhaps best known for his work as half of Bad Luck - but is also a thoughful curator, and stand-up community citizen/social organizer. We're always grateful to have him on our team. Below he writes to you a short and sweet message - read on and we'll see you at Vermillion!

"Hi, friends!

Tonight I will be exploring a new territory of solo drums. In the years I’ve spent honing my solo performance, I have always had the desire to expand it sonically with electronic instruments to provide new compositional frameworks. In this performance, I’ll be exploring elements of drone and pulse through the lens of improvisation.
