Big Little News - A New Home for Racer Sessions
Some very big news for the Racer Sessions community: we’re moving!
When the pandemic landed in Seattle in 2020, we were still over in the U-District at 5828 Roosevelt Way NE, and when it was time to come back to in-person events, Cafe Racer had found a new home on Capitol Hill. After giving it a couple of years in the new space, and with feedback from members of our community, we recognized that Racer was not the right fit for us anymore. We love love love Cafe Racer and are so excited as they continue to grow into their new role on Capitol Hill, serving all-ages audiences, DIY bands, all in the heart of the city. Seattle *deeply needs* spaces like this! We look forward to continuing to partner with them when we expect larger audiences, and will be popping in regularly to check out the great events on their calendar.
Which brings us to Gallery 1412! A space that has long been dedicated to experimental and improvised music, the Gallery is a community-driven venue that we're deeply excited about partnering with. Some of the things you can look forward to in this new location are: the return of acoustic piano (a baby grand is in residence!), easier parking, and that cozy room size that we've been missing, perfect for deep listening.
We’ll be sharing more about this transition over the coming weeks (and you can read a little more in this Earshot article), but mark your calendars now - we’re kicking off our next season on Sunday, September 17th at 7pm!
