No Session | May 1, 2011
We’re taking the week off to check out IMPfest!
In place of Sunday’s session, go hear the incredible saxophonist Tim Berne this coming Sunday at the Floyd and Delores Jones Playhouse at 7:30pm. This show will also feature a reprise performance of Luke Bergman’s Haitain Vodou tribute, originally performed on February 7th, 2010, by a group now known as King Tear’s Bat Trip. Rumor has it they recently completed a studio-quality recording of this music set for eventual launch on Table & Chairs!
For the complete IMPfest schedule, visit the IMP website.
Also happening earlier in the day next Sunday: our own Aaron Otheim will be performing an original solo piece for piano and keyboard at Town Hall for the May Day Marathon! His new piece also has ties to a past Racer Session and, in his own words, “continues the technique and approach” of his composition for spinet piano, from October 17th, 2010. Aaron is part of a set that begins at 12:48pm, but show up as early as noon to hear some exciting new music! More info at http://www.townhallseattle.org/sArticles.cfm?aId=131
Aaron will also curate the next Racer Session, which is scheduled for Sunday, May 8th.
