Racer Session #429 | Casey Adams | July 1, 2018
*Unfortunately, due to a technical error this session was not recorded. Our apologies!!!*
Greetings, Racers!
This Sunday at 8pm, we will start the session with a presenting set from Racer frequent Casey Adams. A Spokane native, Casey is a (fairly) recent transplant to Seattle, who self-defines as a drummer, electronic musician and DJ. He has played drums in the cult Spokane free improvisation troupe Thelonious Dumptruck, and records/releases/performs as Dorian Slay and nothing but the dead and dying, outputting electronic music ranging from harsh noise to left-field dance music.
From Casey:
"Exploring the strange periphery of many diverse genres, I attempt to fuse seemingly disparate sounds and styles through my music, aiming for personal understanding and self-expression. In this session I will combine my recent reconnection with the drums and my ongoing explorations of electronic sound for the first time.
I hope that the session as a whole will be a celebration of the possibilities of WHO and WHAT you can be and become as a performer, and most importantly as a HUMAN BEING."
You can check out some of Casey's music here. Make sure you find yourself at Cafe Racer for this one! Casey is a great and thoughtful musician, and devoted supporter of this community. As always, jam session to follow. We'll see you on Sunday!
