Racer Session #356 | Levi Gillis | January 8, 2017
*This session was unfortunately not recorded due to a technical error. Our apologies!*
Greetings, fans of the Avant!
This Sunday, we are stoked to welcome Levi Gillis back to the Racer stage. Levi is a familiar face at the sessions and a force of good in Seattle's many music communities - when not on stage with projects of his own involvement, you'll likely see him in the audience at a show, or behind-the-scenes helping with production or writing reviews of new music. He writes about his new compositions below:
"I'll be presenting some early sketches of music for solo saxophone and effects. These pieces deal with the saxophone as a sound producer in a general sense in an attempt to move away from monophonic sounds usually associated with the saxophone. The music works with elements of song form and melody, ambient noise, and musique concrete. These pieces are very much still in development. Excited to share with you all!"
