Racer Session #372 | DunkelpeK | April 30, 2017
Greetings, Racers!
Tonight, we welcome DunkelpeK to the Racer stage. On tour from Oakland, California, DunkelpeK is a duo comprised of Nava Dunkelman (percussion) and Jakob Pek (guitar, miscellany, piano). Playing an avant-garde world improvisation that is inspired and informed by many musics, DunkelpeK's sound interweaves and explores countless dimensions of vibration, giving being to a sonic reality. They write a little bit below, where you will also find some additional materials to help you check them out before their session tonight at 8pm.
"Greetings! We are DunkelpeK! We play an experimental improvised music that's informed by deep listening, environmental awareness, and spontaneous communication. As a duo, we offer listeners a visceral, syncretic experience of sound and silence. We are grateful to share our sound in Seattle. The first half of the concert will be performed in duo. The latter half of the concert will be an open session, and other improvisers are invited to take part in short to medium length pieces as duets, trios, quartets, etc. We hope to see you tonight!"
